One of the barnevelders is not looking so good but everyone else seems okay. The five rare that they sent me are all either light brahma, more Salmon Faverolles, or Wheaten Marans. The males are barred. This breed will lay dark brown eggs and will lay a lot of them! You will truly enjoy this breed in your backyard flock and its dark eggs in your egg carton! These hybrids perform well in many different climates. These days you might also want to look into the route the birds will take from the hatchery--Hoover's first stop is Minneapolis DC, don't know about the other Iowa hatchery because it's a ways south of Hoover's.
